LEARN HOW TO SAVE BIG BUCKS AT THE GAS PUMP “Go Green Streets SETx” Hybrid & Electric Car Show April 14, 2012 9am to 2pm Crockett Street Entertainment District Downtown Beaumont. Local auto dealerships will show plug-in electric vehicles (EV’s), which use zero gasoline and emit zero pollution. The gas saving electric-gasoline hybrids that average 40 mpg will also be at the event. You will be able to test drive most models and learn how these cars can save you big bucks at the gas pump. “Go Green Streets SETx” will feature other activities for event participants of all ages including activities for children provided by Shangri La Botanical Gardens. Young Audiences is hosting a “Go Green Streets SETx’’ poster contest. Beaumont Main Street will lead a free guided walking tour of the downtown area. There will be motor scooter displays and bicycle events. Come have lunch, enjoy the activities, and visit with other businesses and organizations that are offering green products and green solutions. Sponsors’ of the event include Mobiloil Federal Credit Union, Classic Chevrolet, Classic Buick, Kinsel Ford, Kinsel Toyota, Philpott Hyundai, Classic KIA, and Mike Smith Nissan. 2012 Trail Between the Lakes Hike May 4th, 5th, & 6th Hike one, two, or three days! This is probably the most accommodating 28 mile 3 day hike that you can imagine. You can hike one, two, or all three days or any combination. This trail is in the Sabine National Forest and connects Lake Sam Rayburn and Toledo Bend Reservoir. You can backpack if you choose or elect to camp with the group in a designated camping area. Hikers will shuttle back to the camp site at the end of each day’s hike. Don’t want to camp! Stay at the Fin & Feather or park your RV or camper at an RV park and meet us each morning for the day’s hike. This trip is designed to accommodate all levels of hikers.
