TRINITY RIVER GREEN
BELT TRAIL
The City of Denton manages the greenbelt along the Trinity River between
Lake Ray Roberts and Lewisville Lake. It is a wonderful place to walk, bike
and enjoy the North Texas countryside.

CLEAR CREEK NATURAL
HERITAGE CENTER
The City of Denton is developing nature trails on a lovely piece of property
on its eastern border.

CITY OF DENTON RAIL
TRAIL
The City of Denton Parks & Recreation Department has completed improvements
on the Rail Trail that is part of the Trinity Trails System. It is a good,
improved gravel surface on the old railroad bed. Because of road work on
Loop 288, the trail it is best used from 288 south.

THE HEARD SANCTUARY
The Heard Natural Science Museum and Wildlife Sanctuary is a wonderful
facility in McKinney where folks can take classes, walk on the wild side and
visit native plant gardens.

LLELA
On land preserved below the Lake Lewisville dam, the Lewisville Lake
Environmenal Learning Area offers hiking, fishing, bird watching, canoeing
and kayaking and picnicking.
