Imagine never finding a fossil under foot, or discovering deer feeding at dusk, or seeing birds on their spring migration. Many local kids don't have a chance to experience these delights we take for granted. If you’re 18 or older and you’d like to introduce local youngsters to the wonders of the outdoors, Inner City Outings (ICO) needs you.
ICO serves youth ages 8-18. Our outings stress teamwork, teach self-reliance outside an urban setting and encourage kids to take an active role in protecting the environment. The San Antonio group offers a variety of year-round outings experiences, including land- and water-based activities.

Monthly Meetings
We meet the first Tuesday of the month at 7 p.m. at University Presbyterian Church, 300 Bushnell at Shook, adjacent to Trinity University. Park in back and come up the middle staircase. Our meeting room is at the top of the stairs on the left. Our next meeting is Tuesday, May 7th.
ICO Needs Your Unused Camping Gear
Do you have unused tents, sleeping bags and other camping or backpacking gear still in good condition that's taking up space in your closet? Inner City Outings would love to take them off your hands. Contact Anne Pearson, 210-408-6321, or ico.sanantonio@yahoo.com.
Get Involved
Our first overnight camping trip is scheduled for April 13-14, and a trip to a bat cave is scheduled for Thursday afternoon/evening, April 25. A Saturday daytime event is planned for early May for military families. In the summer we will do a series of water-based outings including kayaking.
